THERE ARE ACTIVITIES FOR ALL AT THE YMCA!
SANFORD FAMILY TENNIS CENTER
The YMCA tennis facility has some of the best courts in Maine. Three beautiful courts are available on an hourly rate. USTA Certified instructors are available to teach lessons for all levels and abilities.
FITNESS CENTER
The Fitness Center provides a comfortable environment and the newest technology in strength training equipment. The climate controlled system is designed to provide air conditioning during the hot summer months. There is a full circuit Nautilus Strength Training along with 18 cardio-vascular machines, light weights and a stability and balance station.
FREE WEIGHT CENTER
With all the benches, leg presses and machines for a complete strength training workout. There are also dumbbells from 3lbs to 70lbs.
GROUP EXERCISE STUDIO
This hardwood floor area is large enough for twenty-five people to participate in aerobics, martial arts and kick boxing.
GYMNASTICS STUDIO
Our fully functional gymnastic area can accommodate recreational to competitive league play. Here children can work on basics skills like tumbling and vaulting, to more advanced exercises such as the balance beam, parallel bars and uneven bars. This program follows skill progressions laid out by the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic Program.
RACQUETBALL COURT
The Racquetball Court is available to all who wish to play competitive or recreational games. Courts are free to members. All players must wear protective eyewear.
CHILD CARE CENTER
The CLC YMCA Child Care Center provides quality and reliable care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Our qualified staff, offer a warm, friendly, secure, and enriching environment. The daily curriculum is designed to encourage children to explore and discover the world around them. Through the Child Care program children develop self esteem, social relation skills, physical development as well as creativity. Children are offered activities daily that are child directed as well as teacher directed that include but are not limited to, reading, block play, sand and water play, singing, dancing, painting, cooking, and imaginative play. The daily scheduling allows for a balance of indoor play, outdoor play, and rest time. Children enrolled in the child care program are provided daily with a nutritious breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. The YMCA Child Care Center is licensed for up to 40 children/.
DR LONNA BUNTING PLAYGROUND
The Dr. Lonna Bunting Playground is the most fun and complete playground in the area. Stop by and see how much fun it is.
BORN LEARNING TRAIL
The Born Learning trail consists of ten brightly colored signs that provide prompts for fun activities that parents and caregivers can do with young children, such as, "Listen to the birds. Ask, "What are they saying? Can you sing like them? and Find a flower or tree. Touch it, talk about it. Is it hard or soft? Rough or Smooth? The entrance to the trail is in the YMCA Playground.
